What I think we are to take away from this passage, and from all the related passages is that the more completely we align ourselves with Jesus, with God’s purpose of coming into the world to set things right again, the more we can, simply by our presence and our witness, overturn the things, the structures that rebel against God’s will. (The demonic powers of society.)

Ultimately we as individuals, we as the Body of Christ, the Church, are called to so imitate Jesus and his love for the world that we can do the mighty works of power – that the world misunderstands and mis-characterizes. But which are all part of the work of repairing the breach that has happened in the original plan and design of the Creation. We, when we fully show forth Christ, become God’s fellow workers in the Garden of Creation, which was what God created us to be in the first place – and what Jesus called us to do as we follow him into the fullness of the new Kingdom of God. A Kingdom that is unlike any Kingdom that humans have or could create.
