I’ve spent my week following our diocesan convention attending the meeting of the Anglican Communion Science Commission in Virginia. We, the Lead Bishop’s for “Science” gathered, along with some Commissioners and scholars to begin to plan how we would live out the Science and Faith Call from the Lambeth Conference two years ago. I worked closely with other Lead Bishops from all over the Americas in designing programs for our respective Provinces and contexts. It was a long, productive and inspiring meeting. And tiring, to be honest…

I arrived home last night and this morning joined other people for a “watch party” as we installed the next Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, The Most Rev. Sean Rowe.

And after the watch party, we joined the people of Church Beyond the Walls to pray and work with people in Burnside Park in Providence, many of whom are unhoused. We celebrated All Saints together and then had lunch and distributed the socks that people brought as their admission ticket to the watch party.

All of which to say it’s been a long week and a long day. I was hoping to have something recorded as it’s been a while. But alas…

I do have this sermon from a few years ago that was the basis for what I preached in the park earlier today. And to be honest, the production values of that sermon are much better than what we had outside today.
