Wealth confers powers we are not morally ready to receive

Sermons and audio

Golden coins sbi 300939552.I’m back from the meeting of the General Board of Examining Chaplains, and now part of a team that is working on the General Ordination Exams in the Episcopal Church. But I got back late last night and I’m still getting caught up. So I hope you’ll forgive me going back to the well again and reposting a sermon from 2021. It’s a good sermon and looking at it, I don’t think I’d change anything.

The sermon discusses the corrosive nature of wealth, and since wealth confers power over others, it discusses the danger of having and/or desiring power over others. As we approach this year’s General Election, it’s worth reflecting on that as you listen to what people are saying in their various campaigns.
