In this week's gospel, the first few verses of the assigned lesson really connect with the preceding five verses of Luke 17 and not with what follows afterwards. I've chosen to preach on those preceding verses because of the events of this past week, the suicide of Tyler Clementi and our own grappling with what this means and what the gospel expects of us to do.
