We had a bit smaller turn out this year than last for our Blessing of the Animals service at the Cathedral. No ducks this time, but we did have fish and rats to join our perennial horse, cat and dog guests.
I was asked to pray for a Howler Monkey doll. So that was different.
Thanks to Mrs. Knisely for the pictures. (I gotta get a better haircut.)
A wonderful display of affection and community among two- and four-leggeds, furred and finned. (No feathered-s this time.) Your blessing of the stuffed howler monkey was esp. touching and just the right thing for that little girl to hear.
This started as a service I helped put together at the Cathedral in Nashville. Full house of folks with animals everywhere … I assume they still have it.

Check out the pictures. I wonder why people seem reluctant to do this?
