People who have been reading this blog for a while know that I’ve been trying to think through the effects that climbing energy costs are going to have on congregational life and development. I was a bit worried then to read this headline today. (With all the excitement of General Convention, I’d lost track of where crude oil prices had gotten to…)

“Will the average U.S. gasoline pump price climb past $3 per gallon by this weekend? Experts say it’s possible with oil prices jumping to a record above $75 a barrel, spurred by escalating demand, geopolitical tensions and snags in oil shipping.”
