We held our annual Blessing of the Animals this past weekend on the front lawn of the Parish. Here are some of the pictures from the event. As usual the kids and the dogs had a great time. I, on the other hand, have to launder my surplice as one of the big puppies managed to put grass stains on it while giving me a big kiss!
The Blessing of the Animals is part of the way that our parish remembers the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. The way we really remember his life though is Monday through Friday at our Parish Soup Kitchen where we serve a hot meal to whoever comes to us and asks for one. (Last year we served over 30,000 meals.)
There’s a photo album listed on the right hand side with pictures if you’d like to take a peek.
