Phoenix Chorale reviewed in the NYTimes!

The Phoenix Chorale is our “Choir in Residence” here at Trinity Cathedral. A number of our cathedral choir members sing or have sung with the organization.

The Chorale won a grammy this year for an album it released last year – it’s third grammy in total I think over the last few years.

It’s not surprising with the increased recognition that the Chorale is suddenly traveling more and preforming in higher quality venues. They just joined forces with their sister organization The Kansas City Chorale to perform at Lincoln Center this week.

They even got a review:

“Orchestral and choral conductors often use noticeably different gestures. When Charles Bruffy led the Kansas City Chorale and the Phoenix Chorale in an enjoyable a cappella concert at Alice Tully Hall on Monday evening, he seemed to be sculpturing in air: carefully molding each finely hued note he coaxed from his choristers.”

And congratulations folks!
