Many Episcopalians have grown up in churches of other Christian traditions, and some share memories of evangelistic outreach services we may have attended as teenagers. While the details may have been forgotten the feeling we had in those times of a sense of God's love for us has not. These are examples of mountaintop events – moments in our own lives where God reveals Himself to us and we are transfigured. As much as we want to stay up on the mountain and camp out, God calls us down from these transcendent peak experiences. After this final Epiphany moment, we would do well to remember the hills and valleys of faith as this week we start "walking once more this pilgrim way of Lent."
