Sermon for the Fourth Sunday after Easter, 2007

Sermons and audio

In our collect for this Sunday and in today's reading from the Book of Revelation, we have images of Jesus as the Good Shepherd and as the Lamb of God. But the Gospel lesson offers a surprising teaching when placed in its historical context: At the Jewish Festival of Lights we find Jesus, standing by the sheep pen, being asked if he is the Messiah. Listen in this sermon for yet another instance of our Savior showing us how the truth is far more complex than we first think.
