Kan. Debate Challenges Science Itself (AP): “The Kansas school board’s hearings on evolution weren’t limited to how the theory should be taught in public schools. The board is considering redefining science itself. Advocates of ‘intelligent design’ are pushing the board to reject a definition limiting science to natural explanations for what’s observed in the world.”

More news from Kansas. The problem with this is that by attempting to change the definition of Science, the religious folks are sort of implying that they’re beliefs won’t stand up to outside scrutiny. I believe that my faith is true – but what I really am interested in is the truth. If science proves to something to be untrue, then I must either reinterpret my faith or admit that it is wrong. (Which has not happened yet.)
