BBC NEWS | World | Europe | Pope reaches out in first message: “Benedict XVI has celebrated his first Mass as Pope, vowing to strive for the unity of all Christians.
Marking the start of his pontificate at the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel, he said he felt inadequate at the responsibility of leading the Church.

The former Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was elected head of the Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday.”

It took Nixon to be able to go to China and normalize our relations. Perhaps it will take the former head of the Congregation for the Purity of the Faith to reach out to protestants… I’m certainly hopeful reading this news. I expect the primary focus will be with the Orthodox, Anglican and Lutheran Churches.
