The Spirit's work, in part, is to be the vehicle of the Amanesis of Jesus so that we can recall to ourselves what it means to be his friends.
This is important to our lives as individuals and for our corporate lives within the Church because without the Spirit and the attendant gifts, we have no hope of overcoming our own shortcomings. Shortcomings which inevitably lead us into creating a communities that keep others out rather than truly drawing them in.
